Geek Bar's Pulse line built its reputation on one core idea: two coils, two distinct vaping experiences, one device. The Pulse 2 keeps that dual-mode foundation and updates the hardware around it. Here's a breakdown of what's changed, in spec terms rather than marketing terms.

Battery Tech: 4.35V High-Voltage (LiHV) Cell

While coil and wicking upgrades get standard coverage, one of the most critical mechanical shifts in the Pulse 2 is its power supply: a 4.35V LiHV (Lithium High Voltage) battery cell.

Most standard disposable vapes utilize standard 4.20V Li-ion cells. Upgrading to a 4.35V LiHV chemistry fundamentally changes how power is managed across the discharge cycle:

• Minimizing Voltage Sag: Standard lithium cells experience a noticeable drop in output voltage as they drain, causing vapor output and temperature to drop when the battery is low. The higher peak voltage and flatter discharge curve of a 4.35V LiHV cell deliver stable wattage to the 0.8Ω coils even as the battery approaches 0%.

• Higher Energy Density: The LiHV chemistry packs an upgraded 800mAh capacity into a compact footprint without adding unnecessary bulk to the device chassis.

• Fast-Charging Performance: Built to tolerate higher charge currents, the cell works alongside the device's USB-C fast-charging protocol, enabling a 0% to 80% charge in roughly 15 to 20 minutes.

Two Modes, Two Puff Counts

The Pulse 2 retains the signature Regular/Pulse switch, but the two modes are now more clearly differentiated by output and longevity rather than just vibe.

Regular Mode — 25,000 puffs. A single coil fires, delivering a steadier, lower-intensity draw. This mode is built around duration: flavor is released gradually rather than all at once, which is reflected in the higher puff count.

Pulse Mode — 15,000 puffs. Both coils ignite simultaneously. This concentrates flavor delivery into a shorter window, trading total puff count for a more immediate, layered hit on each draw. The lower puff figure is a direct tradeoff of running dual coils at once rather than a single coil in sequence.

Users can switch between the two on demand, so the device functions as two puff-count profiles in one unit rather than a single fixed spec.

Coil Hardware: 0.8Ω Dual Mesh

The Pulse 2 uses a 0.8Ω dual mesh coil configuration. Dual mesh coils increase the surface area in contact with the e-liquid compared to a single mesh or standard coil, which is the mechanical basis for more consistent heating across the wick and more even vapor production per puff.

Geek Bar reports a 23.7% increase in e-liquid volume and improved output tied to this coil update — figures that come from the coil and wicking changes below, not from the mode-switching feature.

Wicking: 30% Efficiency Increase

Alongside the coil update, Geek Bar cites a 30% improvement in wicking efficiency. In practical terms, wicking efficiency measures how effectively the cotton or wicking material draws e-liquid to the coil between puffs. Higher wicking efficiency reduces the risk of dry hits during rapid or back-to-back draws, since the coil is being resupplied with liquid faster.

VPU (Vapor Pickup Unit)

The Pulse 2 introduces what Geek Bar calls a VPU system, aimed at reducing residual e-liquid left unused at the bottom of the pod near end-of-life. Two figures are attached to this system:

• 30% increase in e-liquid retention efficiency — more of the filled liquid is actually accessible to the coil over the device's life, rather than sitting unused.
• 32% increase in effective puff output — a downstream result of that retention improvement, since less wasted liquid translates to more usable puffs from the same fill volume.

The Pulse 2 keeps the same pill-shaped silhouette Geek Bar has used across the Pulse line, with a see-through pod section that shows liquid level and coil assembly.
